Sega and Salomon in joint Marketing Alliance

Sega Europe and Salomon, the international ski and snowboard manufacturer, are to develop joint marketing initiatives. The announcement coincides with the European release of Snow Surfers, the exciting and realistic snow-boarding game from Sega. Salomon are the only in-game partner, and Snow Surfers will feature merchandise from the current winter collection of both Salomon and its snowboard clothing division, Bonfire. Gamers choose from a selection of three Bonfire outfits and from the complete brand new range of Salomon snowboards available for this season. The performance on the slopes of Snow Surfers’ leading character, Jimmy, reflects the qualities of the board he is riding. The pistes, on which Jimmy and six other characters race against the clock, feature Salomon-branded banners and advertisements.

Sega Europe’s key territories will closely work with Salomon at local snowboarding competitions and industry events to maximise the opportunities from this joint marketing initiative.

Jean-Luc Diard, Chief Executive Officer, Salomon and Bonfire International, said:

Snow Surfers has the most realistic and life-like graphics of any snowboarding game we have ever seen. Salomon’s customers and Dreamcast’s gamers share the same competitive characteristics and Sega have provided us with access to a whole new customer base. We look forward to working with the Sega team.

J-F Cecillon, Chief Executive Officer SEGA Europe, said:

The agreement shows our continued commitment to partner with international brands to create mutually beneficial marketing alliances. Salomon is a leader in the field of winter sports, and complements Sega’s leadership in the video games console industry.
